About
Steel Sparrows
Tahoe’s All-Female Rock Band
TheSteel Sparrows is an all-female, all-mom, 5-piece rock band based in Tahoe, California. We deliver soulful rock, blues, and good-vibes covers with rich harmonies, high energy, and our own original songs. Our setlists feature music from women-fronted bands across decades plus standout originals that get the crowd moving.
We’re proud to be part of the Tahoe live music scene, playing shows at local venues, events, and festivals. Voted Top 3 Best Local Band/Musician in Sierra Sun’s Best Of Tahoe contest in 2025, 2024, & 2023, we love rocking for our neighbors and visitors alike.
Supporting Women in Music
Sure, they say “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and we definitely do! But Steel Sparrows is more than just a band. We’re a movement dedicated to inspiring women and girls to make music. As active music teachers and volunteers with local music education nonprofits, we’re passionate about sharing opportunities, mentoring young female musicians, and inviting them on stage to shine.
Our Music
Steel Sparrows specializes in delivering crowd-pleasing, harmony-rich covers and originals spanning classic rock, blues, country, pop, and indie. From Chappell Roan, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Katy Perry, The Chicks, and Billie Eilish to our own award-winning original Hot Mess Mommas (winner of Sierra Sun’s 2023 Best Original Song), our shows are all about connection, fun, and the power of live music.
